Don't believe in theories people. Believe in practical results. Take your time and download the three most popular fast browsers:
Opera 10.5
Chrome 5 Beta
Firefox 3.6
Opera is lightest on resources and fast. Firefox is fast but heavy on resources. Chrome is fastest and moderate on resources. After continuous browsing however, Chrome uses 60% lesser resources than Opera!!!!!!!!
Check results for yourself. Before, I was a strong fan of Opera, but Chrome proved me wrong. Practically, its the fastest and the simplest browser ever made. I can't wait for Opera to launch a version that may beat Chrome…

yeah. 10.5 beta 2 is now out for windows, pretty stable, crashes less often than Chrome 5 dev. They made me switch to Opera

I've been using Opera 10 for a while and it's fantastic. I'm going to wait for a more stable release to try 10.5

A small comment: The jumplist will also show the top sites you use after you've used 10.5 for a bit and it has accurate numbers to base the list on.

oops, I missed that. Using it on Mac too, 30% faster than Chrome there as well. But still no where near Windows! Damn!

There are no beta versions for Mac and Linux yet. Please read http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2010/02/11... for known issues; these are still alpha versions!
