The 3D holographic displays you see in movies are now becoming a reality. Sony is showing off a new prototype display capable of 360 degree 3D images. The new 360º autostereoscopic display allows users to view full colour volumetric objects from all angles, as if objects really exist, but no 3D glasses are required to see the image.

RIM is back in the game with a  shameless copy of Android, iPhone interface in its latest Blackberry 6 OS.

Everything is revamped and they call it “Flow UI”.

Gesture inputs involves touching the screen in different ways. Toshiba has simplified it even further requiring only a camera.

Toshiba calls it AirSwing, and the software runs on a PC  using only a webcam. The system doesn’t need a lot of processing power either. It had barely 3% processor usage on a ARM 11 chip running at 400MHz.

Feel like watching the Golden Gate scenic view from the view of your Window, But, don’t have the time to go there? Don’t worry, there is a solution you would rejoice.

Winscape system basically gives you the view of your dreams out of your window just like in real life, i.e. when you move relative to windows, prespective and hence the image would change, and so does it when you get closer to the ‘Windows’.

Samsung is showing off a 19-inch transparent AMOLED display at this years SID, up from the 14-inch model we saw back at CES in the CES 2010. With more than 30% transparency in newer models, it might become a great eye-candy on notebook computers very soon.

What would be even more interesting to see  is the Windshields and shop windows running these glass displays.

By now everyone seems to believe that HP bought Palm to overhaul it’s Slate ditching Windows 7 for Palm WebOS.

The original HP Slate was first showcased by Steve Ballmer at CES 2010, early this year.
