With 160,000 Android phones activated every day, Android is becoming fastest growing smartphone, ever!

Yesterday at  Motorola Droid X release with Verizon, Eric Schmidt announced Launch of Android froyo and industry adoption of Android as high as 2 phones per second.

Android Froyo brings lots of new goodies, best one being the speed improvements with Android Dalvik JIT.

By now everyone seems to believe that HP bought Palm to overhaul it’s Slate ditching Windows 7 for Palm WebOS.

Intel atom-ZIntel’s plans for entering smartphone market is making sweet progress. Few days back, Intel announced Official Android port to x86, Atom and today they demonstrated the next generation Atom processor that would lay the building blocks of the future smartphones.

ARM currently controls a big piece of the mobile processing market, but Intel is attempting to make a comeback.

Sony Ericsson had announced Vivaz witha Human-form-factor  a while ago. Today at Mobile world conference, SE has unleashed another variant called Vivaz Pro. This handset has a full QWERTY keyboard without impacting the original design. I’t barely 2mm thicker than the non- keyboard model.

Here are the other Key Specs of the device:

  • Camera: 5.1 MP (Vivaz has 8.1MP)
  • Video : 720p HD video capture
