Indian Government has taken a big step to counter Mobile Phone Piracy. MSAI, Mobile standards Authority of India) has put down a new rule abiding to which, cellular operators will ban BTS-Registration for any of the cellphones which has a non-legal International Mobile Equipment Identity number also popularly known as the IMEI.
As I write this, there are only couple of hours left till all those phones meet the graveyard. However, MSAI wants peeople to get their IMEI registered, a way to control the legality of Phone identification and usage upto the standards. Owners of the Chinese-made handsets are crowding authorized outlets to get the IMEI on their handsets.

Almost every gadget manufacturer is making touchscreens larger but HTC took it to a new step. HD2 features a whooping large screen (4.3 inches WVGA 480×800 pixels), among the largest one would find on cellphones. Else seems to be the first contender that has a futuristic UI accelerated fully by OpenGL. The name itself is tricky, it’s called “else” and the model is “First Else” Phone.
The First Else phone comes from a Israeli company Emblaze Mobile, supposed to hit stores next year.
On the Specs part, Phone has 3.5-inch (480 x 854-pixel) touchscreen display, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 5-megapixel camera (capable of 480p video at 30fps). The rumored Palm Pixi (originally spelled Pixie), has now been officially announced.
The Pixi, WebOS based smartphone, is the thinnest ever phone from Palm. It’s 10% thinner than iPhone 3G S and 20% thinner than Pre.
Like the Pre, it also has a full QWERTY keyboard but rather than sliding, it’s bare open body. Microsoft announced that “Windows Phones” would be coming on October 6th, it didn’t name specific phone models, but instead listed manufacturers and the mobile network operators that would be carrying them. Today however, joint venture Sony Ericsson announced the sequel to its powerful and pricey Xperia X1 handset will be a “Windows Phone,” the Windows Mobile 6.5-powered Xperia X2.
