The service gained a lot of popularity and became the single largest free hosting service. In 1999, the beat of internet, Yahoo bought the company and continued the service flawlessly. It’s been a tough gravel and mud road for everyone in the technology sector over the past year of economic crises. But we are now observing small signs of recovery, especially for Apple.
Morgan Stanley says “Apple is outperforming the PC market in sales growth, and this was before Apple in June released its new MacBook Pros in June. Of course, releasing a new notebook would only spur sales for the months after its release.
Apple shipments were up 25 percent over April. In comparison, PC shipments for the same period were up only 1 percent, according to Fortune. As a result, forecast for the this quarter is 2.5 million Macs.

It’s always shocking when a stalwart of any industry topples. It makes people pause and lay blame in a variety of directions. Some may be slightly confused that GM is not going out of business, as the taxpayers are going to now have a 60 percent stake in the company. However, many different brands we have known for years (Saturn, Pontiac, Saab, and others) will be cut loose. There are three primary reasons why GM tanked: First, GM seemed to focus a lot of attention on high-margin gas guzzlers (case in point, the Hummer). Psystar, the unauthorized Mac clone maker, battling Apple in a California courtroom has filed for Chapter 11.
The news, reported first by the Mac Observer from what I can tell, isn’t that surprising. Psystar was under financial strain from trying to battle Apple in court while maintaining a business. As Mac Observer noted, the Psystar bankruptcy may indicate that its legal backers may have dropped out.
